She was born February 11, 1964. She is an American politician, author, speaker, and political commentator. Also she was the yougest person and lady elected govener of Alaska. She was chosen by Republican Party presidential candidate John McCain in August 2008 to be his running mate. She was the first Alskan on the national ticket of a major party also the first female vice president nominee of the Repiblican Party. Peiple started thinking that she would run for president in 2012 when McCain- palin ticket was about to be defeated.

Before all of that she was a member of the Wasilla, Alaska city council. Also she was the mayor from 1996 to 2002. After a failed campaign for lieutenant govener of Alaska in 2002, she chaired the Alska Conservation Commission from 2003 until she resigned in 2004. She served as governor from December 2006 until she resigned in July 2009. She cited a series of dismissed ethics complaints which she called frivolous and a desire not to become a lame duck govener as reasons for her resignation. 

After leaving public office, penned an autobiography. Which quickly became a best-seller of more than two million copies. In January 2010 ,she began political commentary to the Fox News Channel under a multi year contract. She became associated with the Tea Party movement and endorsed and campaigned for a lot of successful candidates. She hosted her own documentary - reality show, Sarah Palin's Alaska, which aired between November 2010 and January 2011 on TLC.

She made another book called America by heart, which was realeshed in November 2010. Palin was born in Sandpoint, Idaho and is of English, Irish, and German descent. She is the third of four children (three daughters, one son) born to Charles R. "Chuck" Heath, a science teacher and track coach. Palin's siblings are Chuck Jr., Heather, and Molly. The family moved from Idaho to Sagway, Alaska, when Palin was a few months old.

Palin played flute in the junior high band, then attended Wasilla High School where she was the head of the Fellowship of Christain Athletes.  Also a member of the girls' besketball and cross country teams. During her senior year, she was co-captain and point gaurd of the basketball team that won the 1982 Alaska state championship. Earning the nickname Sarah barracuda for her competitive streak. After graduating from high school, Palin enrolled at the Harlan institute.
