blog assignment#13/declaration of independence

The core values of Americans democracy is incorparated in the decloration of independence.

One is that all men are created equal. Also that they are endowed by there creater with certain unalienable rights. Such as Life,Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The government has to derive mens just powers from the consent of the governed. Also it is the peoples job that when the government becomes destructive the people have the right to alter or abolish it. Also to institute new government and lay its foundation on such principles and organizing its power in such form.

Some of these core values are important to the preservation of a free and independent press.
It said that people had rights and freedom is one of those rights.

Freedom of speech and expression, especially about political and social issues, is the lifeblood of any democracy. Democratic governments do not control the content of most written and verbal speech. Thus democracies are usually filled with many voices expressing different or even contrary ideas and opinions. Democracies tend to be noisy.

Here are some core values of American Consttutional democracy.
Citizenship in a democracy requires participation, civility, patience – rights as well as responsibilities. Political scientist Benjamin Barber has noted, "Democracy is often understood as the rule of the majority, and rights are understood more and more as the private possessions of individuals. ... But this is to misunderstand both rights and democracy." For democracy to succeed, citizens must be active, not passive, because they know that the success or failure of the government is their responsibility, and no one else's.
It is certainly true that individuals exercise basic rights – such as freedom of speech, assembly, religion – but in another sense, rights, like individuals, do not function in isolation. Rights are exercised within the framework of a society, which is why rights and responsibilities are so closely connected.
Democratic government, which is elected by and accountable to its citizens, protects individual rights so that citizens in a democracy can undertake their civic obligations and responsibilities, thereby strengthening the society as a whole.
At a minimum, citizens should educate themselves about the critical issues confronting their society, if only so that they can vote intelligently. Some obligations, such as serving on juries in civil or criminal trials or in the military, may be required by law, but most are voluntary.
The essence of democratic action is the peaceful, active, freely chosen participation of its citizens in the public life of their community and nation. According to scholar Diane Ravitch, "Democracy is a process, a way of living and working together. It is evolutionary, not static. It requires cooperation, compromise, and tolerance among all citizens. Making it work is hard, not easy. Freedom means responsibility, not freedom from responsibility." Fulfilling this responsibility can involve active engagement in organizations or the pursuit of specific community goals; above all, fulfillment in a democracy involves a certain attitude, a willingness to believe that people who are different from you have similar rights.

blog assignment#12/M.Antoinette

Here is some information on Marie Antoinette.

She was an archduchess of Austria and Queen of France and of Navarre. She was the fifteenth and penultimate child of empress Maria Theresa of Austria and emperor Francis I. At the age of fourteen,on the day of her marriage to Loise-Auguste,Duaphin of France, she became Dauphine de France. At the death of King Louise XV,in May 1774,her husband ascended the throne of France as King Louis XVI,and Marie Antoinette assumed the title of Queen of France and Nacarre. After several years of marriage she gave birth to a daughter. Marie-Therese Charlotte, the first of their four children.

Initially charmed by her personality and beauty, the French people generally came to dislike her, accusing "Austrian" of being profligate and promiscuos, and of harboring  sympatheis for France's enemies. At the  height of the French Revolution ,Louis XVI was deposed and the royal family was imprisoned. nine months after her husbands execution , she was tried, convicted of  treason and was killed by a guillotine. Here are some of her quotes. Courage! I have shown it  for years: think you I shall it at the moment whem my sufferings are to end ? I have seen , I have heard all, I have forgotten all. Let them eat cake.

I think she had a difficult life. I mean it must be hard growing up with 14 other siblings. I couldn't even imagine that many in one house. I also can't believe that she got married at 14. Now you have to be a adult to get married. It must have been hard for her when her husband was first imprisoned in his own jail. Also to be executed by his own people.

blog assignment#11 part 3

Here is interesting sports news.

1.Winter X takes off on Thursday night with the Snowmobile Freestyle final and snowboard SuperPipe eliminations.

2.First Vince Young, now Jeff Fisher. The NFL's longest-tenured coach won't be back in Tennessee next season. Neither should its QB, writes Paul Kuharsky.

3.In the final column of his tenure, the ombudsman says that listening to its audience is a virtue that ESPN must continue to practice.

blog assignment#11 part 2

Here are some more stories that i thought were interesting.

1.
Mr ElBaradei spoke at Vienna airport as he prepared to return to Cairo to join street protests there.
Meanwhile, security forces have shot dead an anti-government protester in the Sinai region, witnesses say.
The government says the protests are illegal. Up to 1,000 people have been arrested.
The shooting in Sinai brings the death toll to seven since the protests began on Tuesday.
"If [people] want me to lead the transition, I will not let them down," Mr ElBaradei told journalists at Vienna airport.
Mr ElBaradei, formerly the head of the UN nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, warned that if the Egyptian government used force, it would lead to more violence.

Deaths during the protests

  • Tuesday: four demonstrators killed in Cairo
  • Wednesday: policeman and demonstrator killed in Cairo; authorities say deaths not linked to protests
  • Thursday: anti-government protester shot in Sinai region, witnesses say
"I continue to call on the regime to understand that they better listen and listen quickly, not use violence and understand that change has to come. There's no other option," Mr ElBaradei added.
Police and demonstrators have again clashed in Cairo and Suez, and the unrest has now spread to the industrial city of Ismailiya.
Thursday's protests in Cairo have been on a much smaller scale than the thousands seen on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, in Suez, police fired rubber-coated bullets, tear gas and water cannon, witnesses said.
Reports from Suez said a fire station had been set alight by demonstrators.

This happened in the Sinai region. Many protestors are being either killed or arrested. They just want Egypt to change. I got this from BBcNews.com.

2.
An American diplomat in the Pakistani city of Lahore has shot and killed a Pakistani motorcycle rider and his pillion passenger, police say.
They say that the consular official fired his pistol in self-defence. US embassy officials confirmed that an American was involved.
The men were pursuing the American in his car when the incident happened.
A pedestrian was also killed by a speeding car from the US consulate which came to help, police say.
Bullet holes

2.
Tens of thousands of Yemenis have demonstrated in the capital Sanaa, calling on Ali Abdullah Saleh, president for 30 years, to step down.
This comes after mass protests in Egypt and a popular uprising in Tunisia that ousted its long-time leader.
Yemeni opposition members and youth activists gathered in four parts of the city, including Sanaa University, chanting anti-government slogans.
They also called for economic reforms and an end to corruption.
Yemenis complain of mounting poverty among a growing young population and frustration with a lack of political freedoms.
The country has also been plagued by a range of security issues, including a separatist movement in the south and an uprising of Shia Houthi rebels in the north.
There are fears that Yemen is becoming a leading al-Qaeda haven, with the high numbers of unemployed youths seen as potential recruits for Islamist militant groups.

3.
A car bomb has ripped through a funeral tent in a mainly Shia Muslim area of Baghdad, killing 48 people.
Officials say that another 78 people were wounded in the mid-afternoon blast in the north-western Shula district.
Angry mourners attacked police who rushed to the scene, accusing them of failing to provide protection.
The funeral attack comes after a series of bombings killed dozens of Shia pilgrims during their annual pilgrimage to the holy city of Karbala last week.
A spate of bombings in the past month against pilgrims, police recruits and security forces across Iraq has killed more than 170 people.
The recent rise in violence comes as the US military prepares to withdraw from the country at the end of the year.
It poses a major challenge to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and his fragile coalition government, formed only last month.

blog assignment#11 part1

Here are some stories that interested me.

1.
Texas has 317 convicted murderers on death row, but because of a company's decision last week to stop making the key drug for lethal injections, Texas only has enough of the potion to execute two.
Consequently, Texas and 32 other states will be watching closely as Ohio prepares to execute Johnnie Baston. They will be watching not only to see how well the substitute drug works, but how entangling the legal battle is going to be.
Baston, 36, convicted of killing a wig shop owner in 1994, is scheduled to arrive at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility's "Death House"on March 10. If everything goes according to plan, he'll be strapped to a gurney, allowed to make a final statement, and injected with a dose of the powerful sedative pentobarbital.

This is in Texas. Its going to be on March10. The person who is going to be injected is Johnnie Baston. Because he was convicted of killing a wig shop owner.

2.The full force of the U.S. is now targeted on Ibrahim al-Asiri, the young Saudi bombmaker believed to be behind the two bombs found Friday in UPS and FedEx packages bound from Yemen to Chicago. Asiri,28,also said to have been behind last year's attempted Christmas bombing of Northwest flight 253, continues to outmatch billions of dollars in airport security equipment and presents a clear and present danger. "We need to find him," said John Brennan, President Obama's top antiterrorism advisor. American officials now concede that Asiri's two latest bombs would have made it onto flights to the U.S. but for the Saudi intelligence service providing the parcel tracking numbers. Said Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, "We were able to identify by where they were emanating from and package number, where they were located." The bombs were cleverly disguised inside Hewlett-Packard printers being shipped along with clothes, books and a tourist souvenir. Asiri packed the toner cartridge with explosives and added the circuit board of a cell phone--something that did not stand out in state of the art cargo screening.

This happened in the U.S. It was done by Ibrahim al-Asiri. His bombs was found on Friday in UPS and FedEx pakages that were from Yemen and going to Chicago.

3.As investigators sifted through the evidence from the raids on the office and storage unit of Michael Jackson's docter,Dr.Conrad Murray,ABCNews.com learned that Murray's father once ran afoul of the Texas Board of Medical Examiners for over-prescribing pain medications.
Murray's father, Dr. Rawle Andrews, a well-respected Houston physician, now deceased, had his medical license restricted by the board in 1994 for prescribing "controlled substances and substances with addictive potential" to two patients for "extended periods of time without adequate indication," according  to documents obtained by ABCNews.com. In its report, the board singled out four "dangerous" drugs that it would be monitoring for a five-year period: stadol, a painkiller often used during labor; nubain, a painkiller similar to stadol; phenergan, a drug used to treat severe allergic reactions; and talwin, a potent painkiller often used as a supplement to anesthesia.

This was revealed after Michael Jackson's death. I got this from ABCNews.com. This is about what the docter who is claimed to have killed Michael Jackson.

blog assignment#10/George Mueller

Here is some information on Geoerge Mueller.

He was a Christian evangalist and director Ashely down Orphanage in Bristol,England. He cared for 10,024 orphans in his life.He was wll known for providing an education to the children under his care. Until he was  accused of raisng the poor above their natural station in life.He also established 117 schools which offered Christian education to over 120,000 children. Many of them being orphans. He was born September 27, 1805 and died on March 10,1898.

He was born in Kroppenstaedt, a village near Halberstadt in the Kingdom of Prussia. In 1810, the Muller family moved to nearby Heimersleben, where Muller's father was appointed a collector of taxes. His early life was not marked by righteousness  — on the contrary, he was a thief, a liar and a gambler. By the age of 10, Muller was stealing government money from his father. While his mother was dying,he,at 14 years of age,was playing cards with friends and drinking.Müller's father hoped to provide him with a religious education that would allow him to take a lucrative position as a clergyman in the state church. He studied divinity in the University of Halle, and there met a fellow student who invited him to Christian prayer meeting.

In 1828, Muller offered to work with  Jews in England through the London Society for Promoting Christianity Amongst the Jews, but upon arriving in 1829, he fell ill, and did not think that he would survive. He was sent to Teignmouth to recuperate and, whilst there, met Henry Craik, who became his long life friend. When he recovered, however, he dedicated himself to doing the will of God. He soon left the London Society, convinced that God would provide for his needs as he did Christian work. Craik invited him to become a minister with him in Teignmouth and he became the pastor of Ebenezer Chapel in Devon and soon after, married Mary Groves, the sister of Anthony Norris Groves During his time as the pastor of the church, he refused a regular salary, believing that the practice could lead to church members giving out of duty, not desire. He also eliminated the renting of church pews, arguing that it gave unfair prestige to the rich.

here are some more pictures of him.

Robber Of The Cruel Streets

I think George Mueller is the most kindest person ever. He used to be a thief, liar, gambler, drinker, and worse. Then he learns about Jesus and God and he does amazing things. This shows that God works in unsuspecting ways. I bet God greatly blessed him in heaven. I am sure that all of those orphans know that they were blessed.

blog assignment#0/Your Person/Topic

Here is some pictures of the saved by the bell cast.

1. Zack Morris. He was played by Mark Paul Gosselaar.

2.Samuel "Screech" Powers. Who was played by Dustin Diamond.

3. Lisa Turtle. who was played by Lark Voorhies.

4.Principal Richard Beldom. Who was played by Dennis Haskins.

5. Kelly Kapowski. Who was played by Tiffani Thiessen.

6.Jessie Spano. Who was played by Elizabeth Berkly.

7.A.C.Slater. Who was played by Mario Lopez.

The show brought fame to the cast members and launched most of their careers; however, many were typecast into their Saved by the Bell roles for many years. The show often incorporated dramatic elements into episodes by dealing with real teen social issues, such as friendship, drug use, driving under the influence, homelessness, financial issues, divorce, graduation, college, sibling rivalry, taking responsibilities for one's actions, bullying, death, and environmental issues.
The show's popularity allowed for two spin-off series: Saved by the Bell: The College Years, a prime time series which followed several of the original characters' college experiences, and Saved by the Bell: The New Class, a Saturday Morning series which followed a new group of students at Bayside High School.[3] The series also spawned two TV movies and a short-lived comic book series. I think this show must have been very good to have lasted so long.

I have only seen it once. It has a very interesting name. At first I thought it was about  kid who is saved by a bell. Then after I watched it I liked it. I think I'll watch it again later on.

blog assignment#8

<><><><><><><><><> Here is some pictures of  sterios that I like. <><><><><><><><><>

You're viewing what we hope to be vision of the future in portable stereos. Many thanks to Dwayne Colon for dreaming up these amazing designs.

Sony Concept

Sophisticated Sony Concept design with twin mini-disc recorders! We're big fans of the multi-colored digital display.

JVC RC-M100 Full

Bred from good stock, this is the RC-M100, a descendant of the classic JVC RC-M90. This one is improved by offering 10 inch woofers, graphics equalizer and dual cassettes.

JVC PC-55 Ltd

Look familiar? This JVC resembles a model from 1983 but has been enhanced with modern-day bells and whistles. Cassettes replaced with mini discs recorders and a 10-band eq. But thankfully, the backlit display for the tape controls remains intact. Indeed,

Look familiar? This JVC resembles a model from 1983 but has been enhanced with modern-day bells and whistles. Cassettes replaced with mini discs recorders and a 10-band eq. But thankfully, the backlit display for the tape controls remains intact. Indeed, the wood accents are a nice touch.

this one has a digital displays for clock and tuner and yes, a fluorescent display for the equalizer! Don't rush off to buy one just yet, this is but an idea in Dwayne's head.

The Super Woofer

Twenty years have passed and the classic GF-777 has evolved in a big way. Now sporting a matte black finish, digital controls and mini-disc recorders we can only guess the sound is even better than it was. But thankfully the super woofers remain intact so it's guaranteed to be just as loud.

Conion C100-FXL

Ocassionally, companies re-issue products purely for sentimental purposes. This Conion ghettoblaster would be a perfect example. This C100-FXL remains true to the original, only a few enhancements have been made, like 10 inch woofers and a equalizer. Like the red or would you prefer the traditional silver?

Sony Boodo Khan 3

Sony walkman fans will remember the legendary Boodo Khan walkman, but imagine that deep bass emanating from this beast! That's right, it's the Sony Boodo Khan in boombox form.

These sterios are cool and look like their packing a lot of sound. They are awesome to me. Especiallly  The GHETTOBLASTER. I got these from  http://.pocketcalculatorsshow.com/boombox/. They are on future. I copied and pasted them on.
